My 2018 New Year’s Resolutions

I’m late! I’m late!

I bet you’re excited to see yet another post about new years resolutions. *Cough*

Hey, I actually enjoy reading these posts because they ✨inspire✨ me to actually 🌠aspire 🌠. I also feel a sense of accountability whenever I make these posts. When I inevitably begin to regress later in the year, I’ll be reminded of this post and everyone who saw it. I’ll be forced to pull myself together because I told you all about my goals and want to have something to show for 💪.

Just like last year, my 2018 resolutions will be kept very general. It’s less stressful and works better for me than making specific goals. In 2018, I want to:

PERSONAL.jpg
  • Exercise regularly and eat less junk food. Because hypertension scares me.
  • Learn how to and budget my money appropriately. How to adult?¿
  • Learn how to cook healthy food. Because hypertension scares me and how to adult?¿
  • Create more videos. Little known fact about me, but I like to dabble in video editing. Don’t question me on anything technical about it though because I’m still a total noob even though I’ve been at it for years. This year, I want to make it a point to actually learn more about film production. I recently upgraded the video editing software I’ve been using for years to a more schmancy one that has a lot more features that I want to play around with. I’m excited about hopefully leveling up from a noob to an amateur.
  • Take more pictures. This resolution is being carried over from last year. I rarely take pictures when I hang out with my friends and family (although I do usually take videos when I’m with the latter). Part of the reason I don’t is because I get lost in the moment, but another part is because I get too shy to whip out my phone WHICH IS REALLY SILLY BECAUSE EVERYONE TAKES PICTURES BELLE—STOP BEING WEIRD.
  • Push myself out of my comfort zone. Someone much wiser than me one said, “life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” So deep 😢.

  • Read more non-fiction books. The overarching theme of my 2018 resolutions is educating myself and one of the best ways I can do that is by picking up a non-fiction book. I usually shy away from the genre because I have a poor track record when it comes to finishing its books. In order to have an actual chance at succeeding at this resolution, I’ll need to be better at choosing books that genuinely spark my interest. Let me know what are some of your favorite non-fiction books!
  • Read more mystery books (specifically Hercule Poirot). One of my bookish resolutions last year was to read more from my favorite childhood genre: horror. However, in accomplishing that goal I’ve neglected another favorite genre of mine: mystery. One of the items on my bucket list is to read all of Hercule Poirot mysteries by Agatha Christie, and I’ve only read five out of the forty. It’s about time I stepped up my game.
  • Establish a post schedule for this blog. Because I am consistently inconsistent 😁 (¿sıɥʇ ǝʞıן ı ɯɐ ʎɥʍ)
  • Complete my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 50 books. Because few things are more satisfying than seeing this message:

ahh, so satisfying.
