The Versatile Blogger Award

This is different.

Pun intended.

I haven’t been nominated for an award since The Sunshine Blogger Award, so thank you Hannah from But First, Fiction for nominating me! It took a while, but I finally got around to doing this post 😁.

THE RULES

  1.  Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Leave a link to their blog.
  3. Tell us 7 things about yourself.
  4. Nominate 15 bloggers/bloggers you’ve discovered recently or follow regularly.

SEVEN FACTS ABOUT ME

𝓷𝓾𝓶𝓫𝓮𝓻 𝓸𝓷𝓮

My claim to fame growing up, or my go-to tidbit about myself I’d share when asked to introduce myself, was that I loved soccer. It’s super basic because almost every other person loves soccer. But, that’s exactly the reason it was the perfect to fact to establish a quick connection with another soccer fan in the room. I played it for 15 years before I finally tore my ACL. That’s why…

I have three Achilles tendons! One for my left and right heels, respectively, and one that was surgically placed in my knee to act as a new ACL. This fact is perfect for when I play two truths and one lie because it’s so specific—it can pass for either a truth or lie 😂.

When I’m not reading, I love being outdoors! I have a new appreciation for being able to run in a park or hike a trail after living in a country where those type of luxuries don’t exist.

I missed these hills when I was in college.
This waterfall was from a hike last month in Washington State.

Speaking about living in another country…

𝓷𝓾𝓶𝓫𝓮𝓻 𝓯𝓸𝓾𝓻

I studied abroad in Asia for college. I feel like I blab about it on this blog often, but it’s because it was such a major shift for me after living in the U.S. my whole life. The four years I spent there felt went by so quickly, yet my worldview changed so dramatically. I blabbed about the reverse culture shock I have being back in the U.S. some more in another post, so I’ll shush up about it for now.

A peaceful shot from my last trip in Asia.
I never did get used to all the palm trees.

While I do enjoy outdoor activities, I also take time to BINGE WATCH shows. The most recent show I binged was a K-drama called Misaeng (great office drama, relatable characters, and fluffy heart-to-heart moments + it’s on netflix = two thumbs up from me).

Some other shows I like in no particular order are:

ʙʟᴀᴄᴋ ᴍɪʀʀᴏʀ, ʟᴜᴄɪғᴇʀ, ǫᴜᴇᴇʀ ᴇʏᴇ, ʙᴇᴀᴜᴛɪғᴜʟ ɢᴏɴɢ sʜɪᴍ, sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀ ᴛʜɪɴɢs, ᴛʜᴇ ɪᴛ ᴄʀᴏᴡᴅ, ᴜɴʙʀᴇᴀᴋᴀʙʟᴇ ᴋɪᴍᴍʏ sᴄʜᴍɪᴅᴛ, ᴡᴇɪɢʜᴛʟɪғᴛɪɴɢ ғᴀɪʀʏ ᴋɪᴍ ʙᴏᴋ ᴊᴏᴏ, ᴘᴀʀᴋs ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴄʀᴇᴀᴛɪᴏɴ, ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴜɴɪᴛʏ, ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ ᴡʜᴏ, ᴋɪᴍ’s ᴄᴏɴᴠᴇɴɪᴇɴᴄᴇ, ʙʀᴏᴏᴋʟʏɴ 𝟿𝟿, ᴛʜᴇ ɢᴏᴏᴅ ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇ, ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴀᴜɴᴛɪɴɢ ᴏғ ʜɪʟʟ ʜᴏᴜsᴇ.

I’ve been in the mood for K-dramas though recently, so please leave recommendations if you have any!

Something I don’t do as much anymore but I still love is playing video games! 𝘉𝘶𝘵, 𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴. I prefer those lax (sometimes farming) games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. I also played a ton of Super Smash Bros. Brawl growing up, so that game series will always have a special place in my heart.

𝓷𝓾𝓶𝓫𝓮𝓻 𝓼𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓷

This is super random, and more of a life update than a fact per se, but I just got braces 😂. They feel strange, make me look younger than I already look, and now I low-key regret them 😬 (<- also, emoji representation? where are the brace-faced emojis?).

Thanks for reading! I haven’t been perusing other blogs regularly, so consider yourself nominated if you read this post 🙂. Let me know what you think about my facts!
